"These two can only be described as folky, and create music that’s truly salt-of-the-earth in nature."

Before meeting in January of 2014, Luke Dierker was working to become a college football coach, while Morgan Manson was working toward a meteorology degree at The University of Missouri. Music had always played an important role in their lives, and while they worked toward professional goals, they both felt that they needed to make music a priority. As luck would have it, the two also happened to swipe right on one another on the popular app, Tinder. After talking for a few weeks, the pair decided to get together and see if they had any musical chemistry. Their vocal chemistry was immediately apparent when they sang Poison and Wine together by The Civil Wars.

Within a few weeks, Luke and Morgan began to write and perform under the name A Simple Exchange. The two played shows extensively in Missouri, opening for acts such as Judah and the Lion, The Harmed Brothers, and Pageant. By 2015, A Simple Exchange had been named one of the top 10 bands in Columbia, Missouri by Inside Columbia Magazine. In 2016, Luke and Morgan released their first full length album under the name A Simple Exchange with Catherine Sandstedt on viola and Daniel Blake on drums. A few months later, Dierker and Manson were married, and the duo moved to Austin, TX where they currently reside.

Of Sea and Stone is an emerging Americana duo known for their polished vocal harmonies and intimate songwriting. After meeting through Tinder, Luke and Morgan quickly realized their vocal chemistry and began performing together the following week. The now married duo's sound ranges from joyful to solemn, hopeful to desperate, and ultimately reflects the raw reality of human relationships. Of Sea and Stone has shared the stage with several talented artists, including Judah and the Lion and Stephanie Rice of The Voice.

On their latest project, Of Sea and Stone's soaring harmonies and personal lyrics seamlessly guide listeners through optimistic, upbeat narratives to dark, uncompromising introspection. In writing the album, the duo wanted to show every side of love; the good, the bad, and the ugly. As described by Luke and Morgan, "the album is not a love story; it's the story of love."

Their self-titled album was engineered and recorded at Dark Horse Studios with producer Billy Smiley and mixed by Richie Biggs, engineer of The Civil Wars’ albums, Barton Hollow and The Civil Wars. The album features guitarist Brad Rice (Keith Urban), drummer Jared Kneale (Hunter Hayes, Kacey Musgraves), bassist Danny O’Lannerghty, and guitarist Brennan Smiley of The Technicolors. The album was released on December 1st, 2017 through Sony RED and Soundly Music of Nashville, TN.
